Cranberries – Fruit of Holidays

Looks Gorgeous Already !!!

Cranberry and Orange Butter recipe [From Scratch]

Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks, making good food, being with family and enjoying festive spirits.  Beginning of this season, you can see farmer’s market loaded with fresh cranberries and I am tempted to trap all flavor of this excellent fruit. I make sure to freeze some batches of cranberries to use in off season. And also make some Cranberry butter and Cranberry Relish to welcome the festive season. This recipe is especially famous in my family.

Mmm… so many good cranberry sauce recipes, I don’t know where to start – and here’s just one more I want to try! I may have to make one of each, and forget the other side dishes :-)

    Techie,

Is there a reason you use unsalted butter? Have you done it with salted butter, and it didn’t work out? I’m asking because I like to understand a person’s recipes inside and out.

    Thanks!

Good question. Well I think the amount of salt in salted butter can vary among brands. This recipe does not need salt. Although a tiny pinch of salt can enhance taste of sweet dishes but that can be added to ones liking. Adding salted butter will change the sugar to salt ratio.
