About

Hey there, welcome to my blog!

This is TechieChef based in San Diego, California. On these pages you’ll find stories about my adventures of cooking delicious food (which I grew up eating) and bits and pieces of my creations which I love to make for my husband (Always trying to quench all possible time from my busy engineering work schedule)

Cooking was never so important for me until I got married. My husband always encouraged and loved the food I cook and this is how http://www.ChefDeHome.com came into existence. You can find a basket full of old and new tested recipes with detailed pictures of each step @ http://www.ChefDeHome.com and a snippet of those here in my blog.

I remember my childhood days when my mother used to make food look and taste so delicious that I could never resist eating and finishing my meal even when I was determined not take a single bite. Today, when my kitchen smells like my mother’s kitchen, I know my recipe cannot go wrong.  Whenever I remember my mother’s food and crave to eat,  a call still goes to my mother to ask for recipe and also to tell her how I made my version of that recipe. I always strive to make food with same perfection for my husband and want to cook all good healthy, delicious meals for my kids for years to come that my mom always cooked for me. I respect my husband for making my dreams his dreams.

You will see a lot of old and new tested recipes on my blog and my website http://www.ChefDeHome.com . Motto of my website is: Chef De Home – Be a Proud Home Chef. Everyone  can cook chef like at home and deserve due honor and respect for making tasty healthy food day after day.. every day. Homemade food that is always healthy and always delicious, without preservatives , not canned from ages and we know exactly what has gone in it. So I think cooks at home are Proud Chef De Home.

If you like recipes @ChefDeHome, do let me know when can I honor you a Proud Chef De Home.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Ilove your photos. Aileen was always the cook in the family. For my part, hmmm, I know how to make omlets and cook pork chops, and macaroni. But Aileen was the true chef. I know that she would have liked your site so much. You are a good soul, adding good flavor to the havest of humankind.

    be well always…

What a delightful attitude and approach. I know I’m going to enjoy this, being myself a simple home cook and not skilled with especially complicated things but loving (as does my husband and do my guests) to eat as *well* as possible. It’s important to have input and support from more knowledgeable and skilled people like you!! This is going to be fun, I know. Thanks!

I’m not much of a cook though I serve food to others and you’ve gave me something to look forward to and actually learn from, and for that I thank you. Also, thanks for checking out my blog. And another thank you for the recipes that this server will be trying out.

  11. November 24, 2011 at 11:15 pm | #16

I’m glad you liked my post. It’s funny you actually caught me on my first publish, I’ve edited the post quite a bit since then and it’s now fairly set if you’re interested in another look.
Just from a quick poke around, it seems we share a joy in healthy yet decadently rich food. You MIGHT be interested in my beginner-style video of me making mayo–just possibly…

    Cheers! Enjoy!

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my post on Cooking. Wow…you’re a cook and an engineer! I want to be you! I completely agree with your words on ‘mom’ and her kitchen…and oh…the smells….coming in from school on a freezing cold afternoon, walking in the front door, and instantly knowing she’d cooked vegetable soup….yum!!

Your blog could be a very dangerous place for me……

    Howdy –

A quick thanks for stopping by my blog today. When I first visited yours and looked at the photos of the food, I had to get up and get a snack. Kind of subliminal messaging :)
Since I’m not married, I guess I’ll be the one that keeps an eye on your blog for something that isn’t real difficult to throw together :)

    Take care

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope you learned something about people with autism spectrum disorder. It is such a good thing there are people who love to cook/bake in the world, otherwise, the rest of us would starve! Everyone is unique bringing something to the table someone else cannot do. You do that quite literally :-) .

I can, and I’m a decent cook, after all we raised three kids on my cooking, but my husband was the real cook in our family. Thanks for liking my little travel blog. I checked our yours and I will be visiting from time to time. When you are traveling, the temptation is to eat out all the time. Unfortunately, budget does not always allow it and especially if you like healthy foods. I cook a little, but my wife, Lucy, is a master at taking simple ingredients and making them look and taste wonderful.

  72. January 8, 2012 at 6:42 pm | #99

We, eaters like me, need great cooks making great food–sadly there is not too much of the latter in restaurants in South Florida LOL

  73. January 8, 2012 at 6:46 pm | #100

I was a chef and server for many years–retired from both 14 years ago–do very little cooking at home–go out to restaurants to be waited on and, if I’m lucky, get a good meal. South Florida has, literally, thousands of restaurants and most have short life spans–sadly.

It is always rewarding when you have someone to cook for. I get all new energy if someone is there to eat what I am cooking while I would be lazier if alone. But I agree with what you are saying: we all can cook like a chef if we choose the right ingredients and immerse ourselves with the tasks. Food is a huge part of our lives, the best way to deal with is eat something we love, that tastes good and is healthy. There are plenty of recipes and cuisines to choose from.
    Thanks for stopping by :)

I’m new to the world of blogging, but my husband and I recently visited Korea (I’m adopted and this was my first return) and fell in love with the food/culture/people. Thank you!

and I like those cool gravy spoons/ladels you’ve got pictured next to paneer tikka.
I think I will have to try a few of your recipes hehe ;-)

    • February 16, 2012 at 11:58 pm | #121

Thanks @SeeFoodDiary. I am glad you liked my recipe pictures. And btw, those spoons next to paneer tikka have mint yogurt sauce in one and tomato chilli sauce in other. So you take one piece of paneer tikaa, dip it in sauce of your choice and slip it in your mouth. HeHe… Delicious… I think I am going to make these again too… You made me look at my recipe too closely again ;) Have fun cooking. If you do not find Paneer, you can try it with Firm Tofu Or my website also has Chicken Tikka recipe. Try that out.
